About Pay Figures

Free, fast Australian personal-finance calculators that get the details right, with no agenda.

Why this site exists

Many popular Australian finance calculators are marketing tools: they exist to generate leads, so inconvenient numbers (like a novated lease's balloon payment) are downplayed and fiddly details (like what counts as HECS repayment income) are skipped. Pay Figures has no product to sell you. The calculators are free, run entirely in your browser, and show the unflattering numbers alongside the flattering ones.

How we keep the figures accurate

Every rate, threshold and cap used on this site is verified against primary sources (ATO published rates, Treasury announcements and legislation) before it ships, and re-verified every July when new financial-year figures apply. Each calculator's logic is unit-tested against the ATO's own worked examples. See our methodology page for the process and the full source list.

Your data

The calculators run entirely in your browser. Salaries, balances and other numbers you type are never sent to our servers, and there are no accounts, no sign-up walls and no marketing emails. See the privacy policy for the short full story.

Who builds this site

Pay Figures is built and maintained by David Owen, based in Adelaide, South Australia. David writes the guides, builds the calculators and does the July figure review. He is not a registered tax agent or licensed financial adviser, which is why every figure on the site is traced to an ATO, Treasury or legislation page you can check yourself, and why nothing here is presented as personal advice.

Corrections and questions go straight to him via the contact page.

Who publishes this site

Pay Figures is published by Cactus & Cubby Marketplace (ABN 28 316 231 089), David's independent Australian business, based in Adelaide. It is not a financial adviser, lender, lessor or broker, and has no commercial relationship with any product mentioned on this site.

What this site is not

Everything here is general information based on publicly available rates and thresholds. It doesn't consider your personal circumstances and isn't financial, tax or credit advice. For decisions that matter, talk to a registered tax agent or licensed financial adviser.
